Tim Rosie
Tim began playing the trombone as a 5th grader. After
earning his Bachelor of Music degree in performance from Cedarville University,
he went on to study at the University of North Texas, where he completed a
Master of Music degree in Bass Trombone performance and continued with
post-graduate work there. While at UNT, he performed with the Symphony
Orchestra, the Wind Symphony, Lab Bands, and the Baroque Orchestra among
various chamber groups. His emphasis in early music there allowed him the privilege
to study music from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. He has also performed
with the Lone Star Wind Symphony, the South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble, and the
Philadelphia Wind Symphony. Additionally, he enjoys playing in pit
orchestras for theatre and opera companies.
Having been an active teacher for 20 years, Tim enjoys using his education to
help others enjoy music of all genres and eras. He has coached low brass
students of various skill levels on low brass instruments, primarily focusing
on trombone. Additionally, his students have won auditions for regional honor
bands and for college admissions . Intentionally attuned to the diverse goals
of his students, Tim loves to help each student realize their potential and
thrive in the process.
